Be Smart: Venafi Dummy-ing Up IT Messages Critical in Tight Times
View Trailer for "Simon the IT Dummy" Movie Today, Get Updates This Week at RSA Conference, Venafi Booth #2345
San Francisco, California – April 21, 2009 – The world premiere of “Simon the IT Dummy” the movie debuts at RSA Conference in San Francisco today in the Venafi booth (#2345).
Simon is the poster boy for IT people everywhere who are under-appreciated, and consequently find themselves drowning in tactical work, rather than strategic initiatives.
The marketing team at Venafi created Simon to help people understand that manually managing encryption is a waste of talented people and can actually turn them into figurative dummies. The Venafi automated encryption management offerings help IT organizations take advantage of their peoples’ real talents.
"Simon was an ambitious, smart and hard-working IT professional who became marginalized when his bosses forced him to perform tasks that underutilized his real talents—and turned him into a dummy," said Jeff Allen, vice president of marketing, Venafi. "It’s probably too late for Simon, but others need to learn from his example and start automating their projects like other, sophisticated IT organizations are doing."
Simon and the film's producers will be in the booth to sign autographs, take photos and answer any questions from press, analysts and other IT and security people who want to stay smart.
