Trell Rohovit - President & CEO
Mr. Rohovit has over 16 years of experience in technology and risk management and related businesses. A significant focus of Rohovit's career has been on designing, developing and launching products and services to assist organizations with the challenges of deploying secure e-business applications, processes and infrastructure.
Prior to joining Venafi, Mr. Rohovit was a subject matter expert with KPMG's Information Risk Management consulting practice. Prior to KPMG, Mr. Rohovit was President and CEO of NSD Security (now TriCipher), a company focused on securing identity management systems and protecting data privacy. Previously, Rohovit was the head of Business Development and Solutions for the Americas, for PricewaterhouseCoopers' e-security business Betrusted. Mr. Rohovit was a senior vice president of Product Management and Strategic Initiatives and a member of the Board of Directors of Digital Signature Trust Co., the first Certificate Authority to gain operational approval from the office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Mr. Rohovit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Utah.
Clay Epstein - CTO & Head of Operations
As CTO, Epstein oversees the formulation and implementation of a strategic vision to advance Venafi technology in conjunction with corporate business objectives.
Prior to joining Venafi, Epstein was vice president of Product and Technology at Identrus, where he was responsible for the overall strategic product direction, technology and management of the operating rule set for Identrus, a global identity management network of financial institutions. Previously, Epstein served as head of eCommerce Technologies for Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) in Melbourne, Australia, building ANZ's secure Web infrastructure, Internet banking, and Internet-based payments processing systems. Previously, Epstein was the CTO for Digital Signature Trust Co., where he directed the technology development and implementation of one of the first licensed Certificate Authorities (CAs) in the United States.
Epstein holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Utah and an MBA in Management Information Systems from Westminster College.
Paul Turner - Vice President, Product Management & Systems Engineering
As Vice President of Product Management, Turner is responsible for planning and management of Venafi's products as well as overseeing project management for engineering.
Prior to joining Venafi, Turner was vice president of Marketing and Product Management for Resource Management at Novell. While at Novell, he also held leadership positions in Collaboration, Secure Identity Management, Content Distribution, and Internet Products and was responsible for driving market and revenue growth in each of those businesses. During the late nineties, he served as vice president of Product Management at CertCo, a spinout from Bankers' Trust delivering PKI and secure electronic commerce solutions to the financial services industry.
Turner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.
Jeff Allen - Vice President, Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing, Allen oversees the development and execution of Venafi corporate and product marketing, marketing communications, analyst and media relations, and worldwide demand generation.
Mr. Allen has spent the past 13 years in high-tech sales, marketing and product development. Prior to joining Venafi, Allen worked in product management and marketing for Novell's Security, Identity, Linux and Open Source businesses. Most recently, Allen oversaw the global marketing of Novell Linux Desktop products. Before joining Novell, Allen was Director of Product Management for ecommerce and hosting at Excite@Home. Prior to Excite, Allen was Director of Major Accounts Marketing at iMall, which was acquired by Excite@Home for $565 million. Earlier in his career, Allen was responsible for marketing communications at Auto-Soft, (now Brooks Automation). Allen began his technology career in sales, where he was a top producer for eleven consecutive quarters.
Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University where he studied Business and Russian.
Peter Bartok - Vice President, Engineering & Quality Assurance
As Vice President of Engineering and Quality Assurance, Bartok is responsible for building and testing enterprise-class software to deploy, manage and control encryption.
Bartok brings over 17 years of enterprise software engineering experience to Venafi. Prior to joining Venafi, Bartok was the Lead UI Architect for the Mono open source project, where he architected and led a team that implemented a multi-OS GUI framework of one-to-one compatible APIs to Microsoft Windows .NET. Prior to his work on the Mono team, Bartok served separate appointments as the Chief Architect, Secure Identity Management and Chief Architect, Collaboration Services at Novell. Bartok began his career at Siemens-Nixdorf AG in Augsburg, Germany. Bartok holds two US patents and has a third pending.
Robert Pritchard - Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Robert Pritchard brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in information technology to his role as vice president of worldwide sales for Venafi. As former vice president of sales at RSA - The Security Division of EMC, Pritchard has deep knowledge of security and distributed computing environments. He most recently led the sales activities for RSA Security's Data Security Group while focusing on data protection and government markets, regulatory compliance, product rationalization, new service offerings, team organization and training. He led the group to be the top quota performing RSA business for two straight years.
Prior to joining RSA in 1999, Pritchard held various business development and sales positions within Gradient Technologies, Inc., a web security software company. He has also held various sales and management positions at Oracle Corporation, TechGnoosis, Inc., Software AG and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
At Venafi, Pritchard is responsible for driving sales and go-to-market for Venafi products and services to ensure worldwide revenue objectives are achieved. He also helps define and establish selling processes, pipeline management techniques and sales reporting processes for managing day-to-day operations of direct and inside sales functions and opportunities as well as partner and channel relationships.
Pritchard has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, with a concentration in management information systems. He is also an avid marathon runner. In April of 2008, Pritchard completed his second Boston Marathon.
Carl Nessen - Vice President, Enterprise Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Nessen is responsible for sales of the entire Venafi product portfolio.
Prior to joining Venafi, Nessen was VP of Sales at Consul Risk Management, where he was responsible for direct sales of both mainframe and distributed products. Carl has also held sales leadership positions at information security firms CyberTrust and Concept Five Technologies. Before working in information security, Nessen held a variety of senior sales management positions at Hewlett Packard, Lockheed and Xerox Corporation.
Nessen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison University.
Bill Elmore - Board Member
In creating Foundation Capital in 1995, Bill was merely continuing his long history of building strong organizations from the inside. In addition to Venafi, Bill is currently serving on the board of directors for Onyx Software (ONXS), Wind River Systems (WIND), Atheros Communications, MarkMonitor, Packet Design, TeaLeaf Technology, Vernier Networks, Wherenet, Biz360, UxComm, SOLARFLARE Communications, SpringCM™, Quartics and Ambient Software.
Before Foundation Capital, Bill was a General Partner at Inman & Bowman for eight years, and before that, Bill worked as the president of Visual Engineering, a graphics software supplier, and in a variety of key marketing management roles at Hewlett-Packard.
As director and past president of the Western Association for Venture Capitalists, and in his role as a director of the National Venture Capital Association, Bill is actively involved in defining, serving and representing the interests of the venture capital and private equity industries.
In addition to an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Bill holds a BSEE and MSEE from Purdue University.
Jim Dreyfous - Board Member
Mr. Dreyfous co-founded and has been a general partner of UV Partners since 1986. He has worked with every one of UV Partners' portfolio companies. Mr. Dreyfous exemplifies the UV focus and approach: active with founders and directors; experienced in building and developing management teams; and adept at accessing relationships that allow for attraction of expertise and capital at every stage of a company's growth.
Mark Shull - Board Member
As President and CEO of Digex, Mr. Shull grew revenues from $22 Million in 1998 to over $214 Million in 2001, completed a successful $200 million IPO in 1999, and achieved multiple distinctions as the most advanced web hosting company, including a leadership position in Gartner's Magic Quadrant.
Prior to Digex, he ran the Web Hosting unit for GTE Internetworking Business Solutions. Prior to GTE, Mr. Shull was Vice President of Network Centric Solutions for BBN Planet. He joined GTE when that company acquired BBN in 1997.
Prior to his work with BBN and GTE Internetworking, Mr. Shull served in a number of general management and consulting roles at EDS, with particular emphasis on information services outsourcing in major industry categories, both domestically and internationally. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton, and a law degree from Stanford.
