Deployment JumpStart Description
The Venafi Encryption Director (“Director”) solution is a powerful tool in helping to get your encryption environment under control. In order to more quickly unlock the potential of this tool, Venafi Professional Services will assist you creating an inventory of a subset of your encryption technology and placing a portion of the systems under management. Working side by side with your team, Venafi Professional Services will help you see immediate results from Director and position you to complete the deployment of Director throughout your enterprise. The outcome of this engagement is the establishment of a repeatable and automated method to managing certificates.
This service will be performed by a Venafi Consultant at the customer location in two separate five (5) day on site visits as well as time spent offsite.
Tasks
- Deployment planning: The Venafi Consultant will work with the customer’s project team to outline the steps needed to perform the deployment and agree on tasks, resources, and timelines for the duration of the engagement. This will be a pre-planning meeting that will be used to discuss prerequisites for the first five (5) day on site visit.
- Implementation: The Venafi Consultant will install and configure Director on a customer system.
- Process Development: The Venafi Consultant will work with the customer’s project team to develop and configure a basic certificate management and an ongoing discovery process.
- Targeted Discovery: The Venafi Consultant will work with the project team to perform a limited Discovery. Systems in immediate danger of outage may be identified at this stage.
- Deployment: The Venafi Consultant will place up to 100 systems under management. This task will be performed during the second five (5) day visit.
- Final Deliverable Creation: The Venafi Consultant will create a summary of the activities performed and complete a Deployment Workbook to guide the ongoing deployment and support of Director.
- Training: The Venafi Consultant will work with the project team to provide informal training, ensuring that the team is able to continue deployment of Director after the engagement is completed.
