Jeff Hudson

Jeff Hudson is the CEO of Venafi, the market leading cybersecurity company in next-generation trust protection. A key executive in four previous and successful high-technology start-ups that have gone public, Jeff has over 25 years of leadership and management experience in information technology and security management. Jeff has spent a significant portion of his career developing and delivering leading-edge technology solutions for financial services and other Fortune-ranked organizations and government agencies.

Prior to joining Venafi, Jeff was the CEO of Vhayu Technologies Corp. Vhayu, which was the market leader for the analysis and capture of financial market data, was acquired by ThomsonReuters. Prior to Vhayu, Jeff held numerous executive leadership posts, including CEO and cofounder of MS2, senior vice president of corporate development at Informix Software, CEO of Visioneer and numerous senior executive posts at NetFRAME Systems and WYSE Technology. He started his career with IBM. Jeff speaks regularly to global audiences at technology and business conferences worldwide. He is a frequent contributor to leading business and IT security publications, including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, and LA Times. Jeff earned a B.A. in communications at the University of California, Davis.

Peter Bartok
CTO & Chief Architect
Peter Bartok

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Architect, Bartok is responsible for driving the company’s technology strategy and product architecture, working closely with product management and engineering. Bartok, previously Vice President of Development & Chief Architect at Venafi, also focuses on technology standards, high–end/complex pre sales–deployment and solutions support, as well as concept and innovation prototyping. Bartok is actively involved in standards bodies on behalf of Venafi, and is a voting member of the Oasis Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) technical committee.

Bartok brings more than 17 years of award-winning enterprise software engineering experience to Venafi. Prior to joining Venafi, Bartok was the Lead UI Architect for the Mono open source project. Prior to his work on the Mono team, Bartok served as Chief Architect for both the Secure Identity Management (SIM) and Collaboration Services at Novell. While leading SIM, Bartok in part unified the underlying security model of five disparate SIM product areas through a centralized auditing system. Earlier, Bartok spearheaded the technology strategy responsible for establishing Novell as a leading vendor of open standards collaboration services. This resulted in Novell standards–based messaging/calendaring systems leading the higher education market adoption rate in 2001 and 2002.

Bartok began his career at Siemens-Nixdorf AG in Augsburg, Germany. Bartok holds two US patents and has a third pending.

Francois Delepine
Chief Financial Officer
Francois Delepine

As Chief Financial Officer at Venafi, Francois leads the global finance organization, and is putting a wealth of experience to work to help drive Venafi’ s growth and development as the world’s leading protector of trust for the Global 5000.

Francois has spent his career in the finance organizations of the world’s leading growth technology companies. Before joining Venafi, Francois was CFO of Trimble Navigation a global IOT/GPS technology company. Prior to Trimble, he was the CFO of Global Business Units at VMware. Additionally, Francois was VP Finance at Google and Director of Finance at Apple. He also held senior positions at Business Objects and Hyperion.

Francois holds a Master's degree in Engineering from Institut Catholique d' Arts et Metiers (ICAM) in France and an MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.

Melissa Keohane
Vice President, Legal
Melissa Keohane

As Vice President of Legal, Melissa is responsible for all contract negotiations and legal affairs for Venafi. In addition to her Legal responsibilities, Melissa supports the company as leader of the Sales Operations function and works closely with the field organization in this capacity. Melissa brings to Venafi 20 plus years of technology and software industry experience. She has worked with the largest companies in the world as well as federal and state government entities in multiple capacities, including contracts management and negotiation, sales, and customer services. Melissa is committed to the win-win ethic of negotiating contracts with stakeholders to promote the mutual success of Venafi and its ecosystem of customers, partners and vendors.

Prior to joining Venafi, Melissa held roles of increasing responsibility at Raytheon and RSA Security, and was most recently VP of Customer Services at Fox Technologies, where she provided leadership in the areas of contracts management, professional services and customer support. Melissa graduated summa cum laude with a BBA in Finance from East Tennessee State University.

Elizabeth Ireland
CMO - Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer at Venafi, Elizabeth is the voice of the company, leading company and product positioning, branding and awareness, public relations, market research, analyst relations, market strategy and go-to-market execution. She brings an extraordinary combination of business and marketing experience to deliver metrics-driven marketing that optimizes sales partnership and lead management.
Elizabeth is an accomplished global marketing executive with over 25 years of experience in high technology, including more than a decade in the cyber security industry. She has a proven track record of success in growing companies. She has developed pragmatic, effective strategies that have accelerated growth and built the brands of several leading technology and cyber security firms. Her insight, experience and industry knowledge are strategic additions to the Venafi team.
Prior to joining Venafi, Elizabeth was vice president of marketing and business development for Tripwire, a cyber security and compliance firm. She has also held executive marketing roles at nCircle and Extensity. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from University of South Carolina, Darla Moore School of Business.

Dave Cutler
Vice President, Customer Support
Dave Cutler

Prior to joining Venafi, Cutler held a variety of service management positions at Novell in Utah, San Jose and Japan. He made improvements to all aspects of technical support including Service Account Management for key customers and building new support centers in India and Prague. Under Cutler, Novell Technical Support Centers became SCP certified in 2005, won the 2007 HDI "Team Excellence" award, and entered the Association of Support Professionals (ASP) Hall of Fame by being recognized among“Ten Best Web Support Sites”for four consecutive years 2007-2010.

Cutler earned a BS degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University and has completed post-graduate business courses including Harvard's General Manager Program. He was 2006 Chairman of the Board for the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. Other boards have included The Consortium for Service Innovation, Utah Technology Council and Timpanogos Regional Hospital.

Alex Kaplunov
Vice President of Engineering

As a Vice President of Engineering, Alex Kaplunov is responsible for all aspects of product development, research and technology leadership at Venafi. Alex brings over 20 years of experience in technology, static code analysis and application security.

Prior to joining Venafi, Alex held numerous leadership positions with companies such as IBM Rational Software, NVIDIA, Coverity, and most recently was Vice President of Engineering at Hewlett Packard responsible for research and development for Fortify Business Unit. While at HP Fortify, Alex was responsible for delivering multiple products and established numerous strategic partnerships. Under Alex’s leadership, Fortify was recognized as a leader and visionary by Gartner Magic Quadrant for Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST).

Mr. Kaplunov holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from UOP.

Kevin Bocek
Vice President, Security Strategy & Threat Intelligence
Kevin Bocek

Kevin Bocek is responsible for security strategy and threat intelligence at Venafi. He brings more than 16 years of experience in IT security with leading security and privacy leaders including RSA Security, Thales, PGP Corporation, IronKey, CipherCloud, nCipher, and Xcert. He is sought after for comment by the world’s leading media such as Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post,Forbes, Fortune, BBC, Süddeutsche Zeitung, USA

Today, Associated Press,Guardian, and Telegraph along with security press including SC Magazine, Dark Reading, and Network World. Most recently, Mr. Bocek led the investigation that identified Secretary Hillary Clinton’s email server did not use digital certificates and encryption for the first 3 months of term. Research showed her email could have been read and credentials stolen for long term email monitoring. This groundbreaking research that “went back in time” was made possible using Venafi TrustNet, the world’s first certificate reputation service.

In 2013, Mr. Bocek led Venafi’s investigation in to how Edward Snowden used cryptographic keys and digital certificates to breach the NSA. His findings were corroborated by classified memos between the NSA and US Department of Justice. Kevin has successfully deployed authentication and encryption solutions for the world’s most demanding financial institutions, telcos, and government agencies. His early success securing critical systems included designing and engineering cutting-edge Java and smart card–based encryption and PKI applications for the U.S. government.

Kevin has authored several books, including PCI Cardholder Data Protection for Dummies and Laptop Encryption for Dummies and co-authored research projects with The Ponemon Institute including the Cost of Data Breach, Cost of Failed Trust, and Worldwide Encryption Trends reports. Mr. Bocek has a B.S. in chemistry from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from Wake Forest University.

Christophe Culine
Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations
Christophe Culine

As Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Venafi, Christophe leads the global Sales, Systems Engineering, Business Development and Professional Services teams in delivering Next Generation Trust Protection to Global 2000 organizations and federal governments. With over 20 years of experience in building enterprise software and security sales teams that take innovative technologies successfully to market, Christophe is a transformational and proven leader.

Christophe has focused his career on bringing groundbreaking IT security solutions to domestic and international markets. His deep understanding of the current threatscape and need to protect enterprises helps CISOs deploy Venafi to reduce risks, enable growth, protect brand reputation and achieve their business goals.

Before joining Venafi, Christophe demonstrated his expertise as Vice President of Sales and Field Operations at several, market-leading security companies including iPass, Mimosa Systems/Iron Mountain, Mirapoint, Fortinet, Qualys, GRIC Communications, and NCD. In these positions, he successfully expanded and diversified revenue channels in new markets and was a driving force in bringing many of these organizations to acquisition or IPO. Christophe holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Ecole Universitaire d'Ingénieurs de Lille (Polytech) in France.
